In addition to running LabVIEW on multiple platforms, Aledyne has a fundamental knowledge of embedded systems across different platforms including Microchip PIC, STM32, Atmel AVR and Freescale DSC and i.MX. Aledyne services include everything from analog/digital circuit design and schematics to component selection and PCB layout.

Aledyne utilizes LabVIEW for most test system implementations but is well versed in a variety of other programming languages such as C/C++ and has a core competency working with Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) including FreeRTOS/SafeRTOS and Green Hills Integrity and many compilers including IAR, Green Hills, and MPLAB.

Aledyne also has over 20 years of experience developing programmable electrical medical systems for 510k submission and FDA compliance to the IEC 62304 Software Life Cycle Process standard.

Services include:

  • Medical Device Design (RF Ablation, Motor Control, and Peristaltic Pumps)
  • Embedded Systems Design
  • LabVIEW Development
  • Software Architecture Design
  • Testing & Automation

Full-service R&D consulting from concept to design and production of Class II and Class III medical devices. Over the past 10 years we have focused on the design of Radiofrequency (RF) Ablation devices for tissue dissection and coagulation (monopolar and bipolar), motor control for tissue resection and bone debridement, and peristaltic pumps for pressure control and fluid management at the surgical site. Our expertise includes:

  • Hardware and PCB Design/Development, and Debugging
  • Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
  • Software and firmware stack development for capital equipment (consoles)
  • Brushed and Brushless Motor Control for tissue resection and fluid pumps
  • Pressure and temperature controlled feedback systems with complex PID control
  • Feature rich multi-touch Graphical User Interfaces (GUI)
  • In-field software upgrading capabilities
  • Surgeon preferences
  • Single use disposable recognition and secure integration
  • Use characterization and tracking
