Robert Sprague is a proven leader in developing and moving technology from basic research to commercialization, with a special expertise and broad industry perspective in the field of electronic paper displays. He has ten years of experience at Amazon’s Lab126 in moving display and optics technology from internal development in external vendors to products such as tablets, e-readers, and Echo devices.

Robert also has extensive experience in vendor engagement and proposal writing for projects in the following technology areas:

Robert’s past experience and recognitions include the following:

• Former Sr. VP of RD&E, SiPix Imaging Inc., one of the two top suppliers of electronic paper displays for e-readers. SiPix supplies paper and display components for use in e-readers, retail signage, and display cards. Sipix has since been bought by Eink.
• Founder, CTO, and Interim CEO of Gyricon, one of the first electronic paper display companies to achieve commercialization. Gyricon brought to market a distributed system of battery operated, wireless electronic paper signage controlled by system software, used in retail pricing and classroom and conference room scheduling.
• A long career in management of world class R&D through 25 years of work at Xerox PARC as Associate Research Center Manager, Lab Manager, and technical contributor. Key leadership roles in technology for numerous Xerox product initiatives in displays, printing, and scanning as well as formation of three companies in electronic paper, (Gyricon), active matrix flat panel displays (dPix), and optical storage (Optimem).
