The Wall of Fame: Honoring Larry Nagel and SPICE, and Other Inventions
Sat, 11 Sept., 2:30-5pm, Computer History Museum
A special program starting at 3:30pm will feature colorful and interesting stories about each of these 10 plaques, and in particular the SPICE plaque. IEEE-CNSV member and Past Chair Larry Nagel wrote the original SPICE Circuit Simulation software, and Larry’s 8,000 lines of FORTRAN source code was widely distributed by UC Berkeley on mag tape starting in 1973. SPICE remains in wide use throughout the world today, its importance having grown in tandem with Moore’s Law.
Besides Larry Nagel, the program will include a number of inventors who will speak about the Silicon Valley milestones represented by the other 9 bronze plaques in the CHM courtyard.
Delightful refreshments will be served, and attendees will receive a unique memento commemorating the day.
