IEEE-CNSV operates http://CaliforniaConsultants.org (the “Site”). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use and disclosure of Personal Information we receive from users of the Site.
Information Collection And Use
While using our Site, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to, your name, email address, postal address and phone number (“Personal Information”). This information may be collected from the Contact form or the Post-A-Project form. Upon active use or completion of correspondence for either of these forms, the information is archived in our database for historical data use only and is not used for any other purpose, including the sharing of that data with any other websites, entities, etc.
Our Site requires members to log in for posting to the Blog or for posting comments. Non-member visitors are not permitted to participate in Blog posts or comments. When members leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, display that data on the Blog page, and also collect the visitor’s browser user agent string to help us develop for our members’ popular platforms.
If members upload images or videos to the website, they should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. All visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images displayed on the website.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Who We Share Your Data With
How Long We Retain Your Data
If you leave a comment on the CNSV Blog, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For registered members of IEEE-CNSV, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All members can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information. You can discontinue your IEEE-CNSV membership at anytime by contacting us. Discontinuing your membership in IEEE-CNSV will cause your profile and all of its associated data to be deleted permanently. Note that, if you posted articles or comments to the CNSV Blog, those posts will remain even after you discontinue your membership. However, if you wish to remove those posts, please contact us.
Rights You Have Over Your Data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us, by contacting us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
