IP address for searches
All searches performed using the internal site search are logged in the database, including the following information: the search query, the number of hits found, user ID for users who are logged in, date and time and the IP address. The IP address is stored for security and auditing purposes.The search logs are stored indefinitely.
Comments
Our Site requires members to log in for posting to the Blog or for posting comments. Non-member visitors are not permitted to participate in Blog posts or comments. When members leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, display that data on the Blog page, and also collect the visitor’s browser user agent string to help us develop for our members’ popular platforms.
Media
If members upload images or videos to the website, they should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. All visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images displayed on the website.

How Long We Retain Your Data
If you leave a comment on the CNSV Blog, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For registered members of IEEE-CNSV, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All members can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information. You can discontinue your IEEE-CNSV membership at anytime by contacting us. Discontinuing your membership in IEEE-CNSV will cause your profile and all of its associated data to be deleted permanently.
