40+ years experience with a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Delaware, and a P.E. License from the State of California (Mechanical Engineer). My work has been primarily in R&D in Defense, Energy, and Subsea Systems. I have several patents to my name in a number of disparate fields. I spent the first 20 years of my career in research labs, from a National Lab to an Army research lab, to a private not-for-profit laboratory. The next 30 years of my career I spent working in small R&D companies, had my own business for a time, and most recently have joined Northrop Grumman Marine Systems in Sunnyvale as a Staff Engineer working on development of subsea systems.
I am also a pressure vessel expert, and can not only design but also write and stamp an ASME User Design Specification for ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII, Division 2 (metallic) as well as Section X (COPV) pressure vessels. And I can also have made what I design and certify.
I am also available as an expert witness in both patent litigation and failure analysis. I have years of experience figuring out what happened when something fails. And I am quite good at digging through the minutia of patent language to elucidate what is really claimed and can understand whether or not it infringes on another patent.
So, if you need something that only an experienced engineer with a background in composites and pressure vessels, as well as failure analysis and patent litigation can do, lets talk.
