Interested in Teaching? Come learn more about EnCorps!

Are you passionate about sharing your math, science or engineering expertise with students? Have you ever considered becoming a teacher, but unsure about the next steps? If you answered yes to these questions, the EnCorps Teachers Program is looking for you!

Launched in 2007, the Governor’s EnCorps Teachers Program is designed to help retired or mid-career STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) professionals transition into teaching. Through a selective application process, qualified professionals will be accepted into EnCorps and supported as they become California credentialed teachers.

EnCorps has designed a pathway — a series of teaching experiences — for our Educators to gain valuable classroom experience while becoming eligible for teaching credentials. We provide educational supports as well as a tuition reimbursement for those who become full-time educators in under-served public schools. We know that well prepared teachers become successful educators.

One of the benefits of EnCorps Teachers Program is that when a teacher candidate (member of EnCorps) earns their California teacher credential and is in a classroom as a full-time teacher (on school staff), EnCorps will reimburse that person up to $7700 for the cost of credentialing coursework.

Share your passion for math or science as a California public school teacher.
